The T-Rex Baseball Club offense exploded in a 16-3 win over the MBA Prospects to claim the 2013 14u Perfect Game MLK Championship.The T-Rex had no shortage of offensive stars. Leadoff hitter Tyler Stokes (2017, Evit-Hamilton HS, AZ) went 2-3 with a triple, 1 stolen base, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored. 2-hole hitter Zach Baptist (2017, Boulder Creek HS, AZ) was 3-5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs. 3-hole hitter Scott Mehan (2017, Cactus Shadows HS, AZ) was "only" 1-3, but also drew a walk and scored 3 times.Blake Paugh (2017, Chaparral HS, AZ) had 2 RBI, Boyd Vander Kooi (2017, Desert Ridge HS, AZ) walked and scored twice and Christian Cuffari (2016, Horizon HS, AZ) went 2-4 with a double and 4 runs scored.Cleanup hitter Mitchell Allen (2016, Boulder Creek HS, AZ) went 2-6 with the biggest blow of the game, a grand slam and 6 total RBI.Paugh, Vander Kooi and Chase Salcido (2017, Casa Grande Union HS, AZ) combined to 1-hit the MBA Prospects. Vander Kooi had the best pitching line of the trio, working 2.2 innings allowing only 1 hit and no walks while striking out 4. He peaked at 78 mph throwing his fastball for strikes, sitting at 74-77 mph.

T-Rex Baseball advances to 14u Championship

The T-Rex Baseball Club jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in advancing to the 2013 14u PG MLK Championship Game. The So Cal Outlaws HSP scored their lone run in T-Rex's 9-1 win if the first inning, with T-Rex answering with two of their own in the bottom of the frame.T-Rex added two more runs in the 3rd and 6th innings, while crossing the plate 3 times in the 4th. Kyle McCormick (2017, Mesquite HS, AZ) stood out at the plate, using a direct, line drive swing in going 3-3 with a double, a walk, 2 driven in and one run scored. Zach Baptist (2017, Boulder Creek HS, AZ) and Blake Paugh (2017, Chaparral HS, AZ) also had 2 RBI a piece, while leadoff hitter Tyler Stokes (2017, Evit-Hamilton HS, AZ) did his job by reaching base, stealing a pair of bases and scoring 3 times.Starting pitcher Mitchell Allen (2016, Boulder Creek HS, AZ) helped his own cause by hitting a double and driving in a run, and he also went the full 6 innings of this game, allowing only 1 run, scattering 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. Allen showed an easy, balanced delivery, throwing mostly 69-75 mph fastballs but keeping hitters honest with a handful of low-60s curveballs.In the loss for the So Cal Outlaws, catcher Anthony Czerwinski (2017, Corona HS, CA) went 2-3 with a pair of doubles.Despite giving up 3 ER (5 total) in 4 innings of work, Rolando Correa (2017, South Hills HS, CA) showed promise. The competitive 6-foot RHP showed the ability to change speeds and throw strikes, alternating between a 66-72 mph fastball and a curveball that hovered around 60 mph.

McMullen had three hits in win

Donovan McMullen (2016, Shadow Mountain) went a perfect 3 for 3 in T-Rex Baseball Club's 8-2 win over Southern California Bombers. Tyler Stokes (2017, Evit-Hamilton) pitched in with two hits including a triple and two RBI's. Scott Mehan (2017, Cactus Shadows) also had two hits. Christian Cuffari (2016, Horizon) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Mehan pitched six innings and struck out eight. He allowed five hits and walked just one batter. His fastball touched 75 mph.Jonathan Hernandez (2017, La Habra) had a double in the loss for the Bombers.

McCormick pitches his team to a win

T-Rex Baseball Club got a great pitching outing from Kyle McCormick (2017, Mesquite) against the San Diego Show 14U. He struck out six and allowed just one hit in their 3-0 win. His fastball was between 70-74 mph and touched 75. Tyler Stokes (2017, Evit-Hamilton) led the offense with two hits, one being a double. He also had two RBI's. Boyd Vander Kooi (2017, Desert Ridge) pitched in with a double and came around to score twice. Austin Kovalcheck (2017, Helix) pitched 3 1/3 innings and struck out four for the Show. He allowed four hits and two runs. His fastball touched 74 mph. Ed Gonzalez (2017, Long Beach Wilson) came in and pitched the rest of the game. He struck out three batters and allowed two hits. He threw a low 70's fastball which reached 75 mph.

Paugh throws no-hitter in 9-0 rout over Classics

RHP Blake Paugh (2017, Chaparral) threw a near perfect game as he pitched a no-hitter for the T-Rex Baseball Club in their 9-0 shut-out victory over the So Cal Classics. Paugh struck out 5 batters through all 5 innings in today's game while only walking 1 batter without giving up a single run or a single hit and hitting the strike zone with 67.3% of his pitches. He showed good command of his pitches around the plate with a balanced, smooth delivery. His FB topped out at 78 mph while sitting around 75-76 mph. Offensively, Paugh was also impressive as he went 2-3 with a 2B and scored 1 of their 9 runs to help secure their big win. Zach Baptist (2017, Boulder Creek) and Kyle McCormick (2017, Mesquite) led the T-Rex Baseball Club offensively as they combined for 3 of their 9 runs off 4 hits and also drove in 4 RBI's thanks to their good eye and line-drive swinging plane. Baptist had a perfect day at the plate, going 2-2 with a 2B and scoring 2 runs while driving in 3 RBI's. McCormick was equally impressive, finishing the day 2-3 and adding 1 RBI and 1
